“The Bachelorette” 2011 Recap by Shawntel

I have always wanted to go to Fiji…I’m sure I’m not the only one! After watching the episode, I think I want to get on the next plane out and make my way over to the “Island of Love.” Maybe I’ll have good luck there ;) Okay, enough about me and onto Ashley and her handsome men.

This episode had a lot of surprises; with Ryan coming back and Constantine leaving during the date. Let’s start with the dates…

Ben had the first date with Ashley and she looked beautiful in her red bikini and the white skirt. That’s what I call a perfect beach outfit. They had a huge boat all to themselves and there’s nothing more romantic than putting sunscreen on someone that you are dating. So sexy. Ben and Ashley obviously have a very comfortable relationship. Most of the times this is great, but sometimes there it’s too comfortable and almost just a friendship is developed.

During the dinner portion of their date, Ben shyly tells Ashley he is ready to make that commitment and skirts around the “L” word. I can relate to Ben and the uneasy position you get put in. It’s really hard to tell someone you love them, especially when you don’t know if they are going to say it back. You just have to hope the feeling is mutual.

Ryan, Rayn, Ryan. Poor guy! I can’t believe he flew all the way to Fiji to see if he could get another chance with Ashley. Wait, no — I can believe it! Sadly, Ashley tells him no, again! I’m sure we all saw that coming.

Another surprise to me was Constantine’s date. It seemed to be going well in the beginning, but he seemed a little stand-offish. I always thought he had some hesitation with Ashley, but I thought he’d explore things with her a little more. He made it pretty clear to her, “Either you have it, or you don’t.” And clearly Constantine did not have it with Ashley. At least he was honest.

JP and Ashley have me won over. I think they are so cute together. I think he will end up with her in the end. But why can’t he just tell her that he’s madly in love? Why not? Just say it, JP…it’s so obvious. I understand he’s scared, but I really think he needs to move forward and tell Ashley so she knows!!

With Ryan and Constantine gone, Ashley now is down to her top two men; Ben and JP.  All I have to say is this is not going to be an easy goodbye during the finale. Ashley clearly is falling in love with the both of them. Yikes, what’s going to happen!?!?!

Next week we will get to see the “Men Tell All” and I know we’re all anxious to see that! We will all have lots to say next week.

Nice job, Shawntel. I agree that we are going to see two great men that we really like, get to the Final. Unfortunately, we’re going to have to see one of their hearts get broken, while being happy for the one who receives the Final Rose.

I just think that JP is so right for Ashley. Ryan P is a great candidate for next Bachelor. Ben F may or may not be for Ashley, and if not, he belongs with a very nice and pretty lady!

I wonder if Constantine really wasn’t feeling it, or didn’t want to have to commit himself emotionally in such a short period of time. I didn’t like seeing Ashley get hurt again, but I appreciate his honesty. I think he’s a good man, and will find his love; he needs to find somebody away from the spotlight, who he can take it slow and steady with.

Yes, it takes a lot of courage to tell somebody that you’re in love with them. But, it’s better to put yourself out there, than to have regrets later on, and wonder what could have been.

I think you need Bens address and phone number!
